PCB Stackup Designer
Build a first-pass symmetric multilayer stackup, edit it layer by layer, and check copper balance and dielectric symmetry before you seal the design.
Why symmetry is not cosmetic
A stackup that is asymmetric in copper weight or dielectric thickness will bow when it is laminated and again when it passes through reflow. On thin boards it also changes through-via impedance, because the plated barrel sees a different average Dk on one side of the core than the other. Both effects show up late — after assembly, when rework is expensive. Check symmetry before you send the stackup, not after the first article.
What the designer does not do
It does not select a real material. Actual prepreg and core thicknesses are limited to what is stocked — you cannot buy 7.3 mil of a specific prepreg. It also does not compute impedance: take the dielectric heights this tool reports and feed them into the impedance calculator. Final stackups are confirmed against stocked material at RFQ stage.
